Pope’s apology rings hollow to some US victims…
After meeting with the bishops of Ireland to discuss the findings of the Murphy report on clergy abuse in the Archdiocese of Dublin, Pope Benedict released a statement that has not been received well by survivors. The Vatican statement called the scandal a “heinous crime” and suggested that “the weakening of faith had become a significant factor in the phenomenon of the sexual abuse of minors.” Some clergy abuse survivors in the US are not satisfied by the comments and ask for more from the Vatican.

Mother Clare Millea speaks about visitation…
A year after the Vatican assigned Mother Millea to run the controversial “apostolic visitation” in the US she speaks out about her task. She insists she is not running the project to serve anyone’s agenda, but instead to tell the story about the state of the women’s religious institution in the United States. She says so far it is a good story. The visitation will enter phase three in the upcoming months.
