America Magazine, a Jesuit weekly, is the latest to add its voice to call to review mandated celibacy.  In an editorial out this week, the Catholic magazine says it's time for the Catholic Church to discuss letting priests marry, suggesting that prayer for vocations is no longer an adequate response to the priest shortage in the United States.

After meeting with representatives of Canadian clergy abuse victims at the Vatican, Pope Benedict said he regretted the decades of abuse inflicted on the Native American children by clergy.  He went on to say that acts of abuse cannot be tolerated in this society and prayed that all those affected would experience healing.
